Man Arrested After Long Chase in Erie County

Authorities report that Joseph Eugene Swanson was arrested after leading State Troopers and police from the city of Corry on a high speed chase through Erie County. Swanson was allegedly fleeing in an attempt to avoid a traffic ticket and lead pursuers through Concord Township, Union City, Le Boeuf Township, Waterford, and McKean. He was finally stopped by State Troopers who performed a PIT maneuver in Summit Township.

PA Supreme Court: Using Drugs During Pregnancy Not Abuse

Pennsylvania’s State Supreme Court made a ruling this weekend that mothers of children born with drug addictions can not be charged with child abuse. The judges acknowledged that drug use during pregnancy is a bad thing but ruled that Pennsylvania law does not cover the unborn in it’s child abuse statutes.
