Conneaut Lake Man and Child Injured in Crash

Michael Quail of Conneaut Lake and a five year old child were injured in a single car crash in Crawford County’s North Shenango Township Wednesday afternoon. At about 3:45 yesterday afternoon Quail struck a utility pole and rolled his Chevrolet Cavalier onto its side while traveling east along Highway 285. Quail was airlifted from the crash while the child was taken to Meadville Medical Center.

 

PSU Heads to Citrus Bowl

Penn State University’s Nittany Lions Football Team has been picked to play the Kentucky Wildcats at in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. This will be PSU’s 8th Bowl Game in 10 years.

 

Predator Priest Sentenced

One of the Catholic clergymen named in a list of what have been dubbed Predator Priests was sentenced just before Christmas to a prison term of between 11 months to 5 years. John Thomas Sweeney pleaded guilty earlier this year to the rape of a 10 year old boy in the 1990’s while he performed ministerial duties in Westmoreland County. The now 76 year old man must also register as a sex offender for at least 10 years after his release.
