Union City Man Arrested After Chase Through Crawford County

Brandon Yovich of Union City is being charged with a list of crimes after allegedly leading State Troopers on a miles long high speed pursuit through Northern Crawford County. During a traffic stop when a trooper told Yovich he was the subject of an Erie County warrant it started a scuffle which ended with Yovich driving off while the trooper was reaching inside his vehicle. Troopers were able to push him to a stop with their vehicles on Dean Road in Rockdale Township about 10 miles later and took him into custody.


Woman and Baby Avoid Injury in Crash

A young mother and her 4 month old baby were taken to Grove City Medical Center to be checked for injuries after a Venango County traffic accident. At about 11:30 AM yesterday Suzy Crispin of Harrisville lost control as the back side of her car began to slide and spin on the ice while traveling along Slippery Rock Creek Road in Irwin Township. The car slid into a utility pole on the side of the roadway and then came to rest in a ditch, both were properly restrained, but taken to the Hospital just in case.


AG Announces Quartet of Opioid Arrests

Four arrests for the illegal prescription of opioids were made right on our doorstep in Butler, Westmoreland, and Allegheny Counties. Silvia Marino and Melissa Riggle are a mother and daughter charged with using a stolen prescription pad to write fake prescriptions for oxycodone in Westmoreland County. Corrina Hoggard was arrested for filing 54 fraudulent prescriptions in Butler County, and in Allegheny County Joyce Gallagher is suspected of filing nearly 100 fake prescriptions.
