Cochranton Woman Accused of Falsifying Police Report

A Cochranton woman faces charges of Harassment and Unsworn Falsification after allegedly injuring a man during an argument. Vanessa Franz is accused of turning a verbal argument into a physical altercation by throwing objects at Philip Symes, also of Cambridge Springs, until she struck him in the head and caused a cut. Later she told state troopers that she had been pushed, kicked and punched by Symes and threw objects in self defense but an in home surveillance video showed that she was lying.


One Injured in Crash

19 year old Alexandria Short of Rimersburg was injured in a single car crash in Clarion County’s Toby Township. According to State Troopers Alexandria over compensated on a curve on Curllsville Road and struck a tree.


Redistricting Changes to be on Next State Agenda

Senator Lisa Barscola has revealed plans to reintroduce a bill to amend the Pennsylvania State Constitution and change the way election districts are drawn. Like the previous proposal which died without a vote it would take redistricting away from lawmakers and create a panel of citizens to adjust the voting districts.
