Man’s Throat Slit at Bar in New Bethlehem

Matthew Atcheson of Brookville Pennsylvania is being charged with attempted homicide against a Clarion County man after attacking him on Saturday. Atcheson is accused of assaulting and then slitting the throat of 26 year old Damien Dubrock of New Bethlehem at Desperado’s Bar a few minutes before midnight Saturday night. Damien was stabilized at Clarion County Hospital and then sent to Allegheny General for further treatment. The Clarion and Punxsutawney State Police are investigating the crime and asking any patrons of Desperado’s Bar during the incident to call. You can reach the Clarion State Police at (814)226-1710. Absentee Ballot Deadlines Approaching

A reminder for those casting absentee ballots in the 2018 election; tomorrow, October 30th, is the last day you can apply at your county election office for an absentee ballot. The ballot must be returned to the election office by November 2nd if it is too be counted.  Over 200,000 absentee ballots have been requested this year but less than half have been returned.


Details on the Squirrel Hill Shooting

Here is everything we know from our media sources about the shooting in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood last Saturday.  At 9:54AM Saturday morning a man named Robert Bowers, armed with three handguns and a semi-automatic rifle attacked the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania by opening fire at the congregates there for Saturday services. Pittsburgh Police Officers responded to the shooting within minutes and were able to injure and arrest the assailant but not before he killed 11 people and injured two others, four police officers were also wounded during the shootout. United States Attorney Scott Brady announced 29 charges against Bowers in a press conference yesterday including hate crimes and he may face the death penalty. Governor Tom Wolf ordered all flags at state run facilities to fly at half mast until further notice after condemning the shooting and calling for unity. As of Sunday Federal Investigators were still searching Bowers’s house, car, and social media platforms for evidence.
