The State Police in Corry are investigating the theft multiple items from the home of a Corry woman located on West Washington Street Extension. An Apple Ipad Mini, Sony Playstation 4 with controller, Angelcare baby monitor, Limited Barbie Doll, a jewelry box which contained an anchor necklace and an angel and heart necklace, a Graco brand car seat, and a book of checks were all taken the residence. The Franklin State Police are investigating the burglary of a 72 year old woman’s home. Sometime between the 15th and 20th of September a 60” flat screen TV and a stereo system where stolen from her house trailer on Highway 417 in Oakland Township, Venango County. A 59 year old Cooperstown Man was arrested by State Troopers on Wednesday after damaging several vehicles at Prichard’s Auto. The man retreated into his house not far away from the dealership when State Police were called and he was arrested for Criminal Mischief of more than $1,000 and possession of suspected marijuana.

 

No injuries occured in a bizzare traffic accident in Warren County’s Freehold Township. A fallen tree was blocking both lanes of highway 6 and David and Joann Hetrick of Saint Mary’s were stopped by a bend in the road. Truck Driver Vincent Proctor of Erie was coming around the bend and could see them but not the tree. When he pulled into the opposite lane to pass them he collided with the tree and a large branch landed on the Hetrick’s Pickup.

 

The remains of a World War II paratrooper have finally been identified and returned home after 74 years. A paratrooper named Willard “Bud” Jenkins has been interred in his hometown of Scranton Pennsylvania more than seven decades after he died in Operation Market Garden.
