Fiery Crash Kills 2, Injures 1

Two men are dead and another seriously injured after a fiery head on collision in Clarion County’s Salem Township. Police are still investigating why the driver, 21 year old Dylan Meals of Knox, and his passenger, 27 year old Cody Cotherman, also of Knox were driving along Route 208 in the opposing lane of traffic toward Brandon Switzer of Emlenton at 5:30 saturday afternoon. What’s known is when Brandon tried to evade, Meals turned his vehicle to meet his at the berm of the road. Meals and Cotherman were both declared dead at the scene and their vehicle caught fire after the impact. Brandon Switzer was transported to Allegheny General Hospital with serious injuries.

 

PennDOT Work Schedule Released

PennDOT has released its work schedule for the week of September 24th. This week’s plans include the closure of Golinza Road in Green Township, Forest County, for pipe replacement. A full work schedule can be found on our website.

 

Two Couples Arrested for Drugs in Same Place

Deputies from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police arrested a couple from Springboro and another from Conneautville on seperate drug related charges at the same house. Robert Bennet and Shannon Amos of Springboro were arrested for drug possession after a warrant was obtained when marijuana plants were found growing outside their house. More plants were found being grown inside. Andrew Amon and Brittany Miller of Conneautville were arrested at the same house for drug manufacturing when the ingredients and paraphernalia for the manufacture of methamphetamine were found in their vehicle.

 

Cosby Sentencing Hearing Begins

The sentencing hearing for Bill Cosby begins today. Cosby was convicted of three counts of sexual assault against Andrea Constand in April. The hearing is expected to last more than one day as his legal team fights to prevent the former comedian from being listed as a sexually violent predator.
