Man Arrested for Having Drugs Near Police Station

A Cochranton man named Patrick Gates Norman is facing multiple drug related charges after he was caught in possession of cocaine right outside of a State Police station. Norman was registering under Megan’s Law at the Meadville station when troopers observed he and the woman who drove him there acting suspiciously. While Norman was inside police got permission from the driver to search the vehicle and discovered 5 grams of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia.

 

Meadville Senior and Middle Schools Closed Due to Gas

Meadville Area Senior High School and all Middle Schools in the Meadville Area have been closed for today due to low gas pressure. All other Crawford Central schools will remain open today and run as normal. Tonight’s football game has not been cancelled and will still be played at 7PM as normal.

 

Edinboro University Declared Storm Ready

In a ceremony at Reeder Hall yesterday morning, Edinboro University was recognized as a storm ready organization by the National Weather Service. A storm ready organization must meet very specific criteria and is a potential Red Cross shelter location in the case of a natural disaster. Edinboro University is one of six schools in Pennsylvania and 231 in the entire nation to receive this type of accreditation.
