Titusville Man Arrested in Highway Robbery Case

When a 27 year old Spartansburg man agreed to take Thomas Peeples from Titusville to Oil City on Monday night he wasn’t expecting to get robbed. It’s alleged that Peeples used a knife to threaten the driver and demand money while they traveled along route 8 in Venango County. The victim said he had no money but would get some from the ATM at Country Fair. Once there the victim tricked his would be robber and managed to lock Peeples out of the car and drive away to call 911. Peeples was arrested Wednesday night after being identified as the suspect.

 

Tools Valued $1,500 Stolen from Shed

Approximately $1,500 worth of tools were stolen from a shed belonging to Michael Perez of Conneautville. Police were called about the burglary at around 7PM on Tuesday August 21st and the investigation is ongoing.

 

Casinos File Suit Against Lottery

Pennsylvania’s casinos are filing a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Lottery to shut down the internet lottery. The casinos’ suit against the revenue department alleges that by simulating slot machines and casino style gambling the iLottery is in violation of the Gaming Act. It also alleges its anti competitive because the lottery is open to players who are 18 years old while casinos cannot allow anyone younger than 21 to gamble.
