Man Severely Injured When Truck Hits Pedestrian

18 year old Keian Russell of Cochranton was life flighted to UPMC Hamot after being hit by a truck while crossing Route 322 on Sunday night. According to the accident investigators Keian was walking west on the right side of the highway when a driver in a Silverado pickup pulled onto the same road from Route 173 without seeing him until it was too late. The driver swerved to miss Keian but he was hit by the front passenger side of the truck. The truck’s driver, who is not identified, immediately called emergency services and tried to help Keian.

 

Woman Arrested After Accident in Union City

An unidentified 47 year old Union City woman was arrested for DUI and other traffic charges after crashing her car into a metal post on Market Street. Police say she was heading north through town and suddenly veered off the road, crossing traffic, and colliding with the roadside obstacle.

 

Apprenticeship Programs to Expand

Under direction of Governor Tom Wolf Pennsylvania’s departments of Labor and Industry and Community Development are looking for ways to increase the number of apprenticeship programs in the commonwealth. The apprenticeship programs cover traditional jobs like plumbing but also less traditional jobs like home health care and even cyber security.

 

Rape at Conneaut Lake Park?

State Police are investigating a reported sexual assault at Conneaut Lake Park. The victim is a 30 year old woman who related to police on Monday that a coworker had assaulted her on Thursday the 16th while they were both working. An investigation is ongoing.

 

Police Search of Hit and Run Driver

State Police from Clarion are looking for a hit and run driver who fled the scene of an accident after a rear end crash. When David Kukulski of Tionesta was sitting at a red light at the intersection of State Route 66  and US 322 in Paint Township around 10:15PM Friday night; another driver failed to stop in time and hit the rear of his vehicle. The other driver reportedly backed away from the accident scene and then drove off westward down 322.

 

Sexual Assault Hotline Gets Hundreds of Calls in First Week

In the aftermath of a 900 page report detailing decades of sexual assault by members of the Catholic Church, a hotline set up for victims of unreported abuse has received more than 400 phone calls.  According to Joe Grace, who is a spokesman for the attorney general, every call is being followed up on and agents are determining which cases warrant further investigation.
