Three Burglaries Investigated by Corry State Police

The Pennsylvania State Police Corry Patrol unit is investigating the burglary of Cornish Lumber Company in Bear Lake over the course of last weekend. More than $7,000 worth of merchandise was stolen including two Stihl chainsaws and a 3 ton John Deer Floor Jack among other tools and items. On July 31st or August 1st a 2002 Honda Foreman ATV, a Stihl MS 362 Chainsaw, and some hand tools were stolen from a Union City man on Old Wattsburg Road. And finally a Titusville man on Thompson Run Road had chainsaws, weed trimmer, and other tools stolen from his garage last week. 83 Year Old Lucinda Man Hurt in Crash

On Tuesday morning an 83 year old man was injured after a collision with a utility pole on Route 66. James Snyder of of Lucinda was taken to UPMC Seneca by Shippenville-Elk Ambulance Service after striking the pole while traveling northward near Knox.

 

Stolen Construction Equipment Sought

A skid steer drill bit attachment belonging West Penn Energy was stolen from a gas well in Clarion County’s Perry Township. The theft happened along Bartow Road between Friday July 27th and Wednesday August 1st. If you might have information please call the Clarion State Police at (814)226-1710.

 

Road Closure in Barkeyville

Part of route 8 in the Venango County Borough of Barkeyville will be closed starting this Sunday August the 5th. The road is closed to replace a bridge crossing a tributary of Wolf Creek and should be open to traffic again by August 12th. The detour uses Interstate 80 and Route 308.

 

Gulf War Vets Eligible for Bonus Money

If you are a veteran of the Persian Gulf War in the 1990’s then you are eligible for a one time bonus of up to $525. The bonus is available to veterans from Pennsylvania who served in the Persian Gulf region while a member of the armed forces from August 2nd of 1990 to August 31st of 1991. The bonus is also available for the survivors of anyone who died during the conflict or as a direct result. To claim you bonus go to persiangulfbonus.pa.gov by August the 31st.
