Suspicious Man Arrested for Drug Possession

State Police have not released the name of the man that was arrested for drug possession around 9am Tuesday morning in the driveway of a Vernon Township home. The man consented to a search of his white Ford Explorer after reports of suspicious behavior. He was entering various parking lots and private drives, loitering, and then leaving them.

Harrisburg Diocese Reveals Names of Accused Sex Offenders and New Policy

The Catholic Diocese in Harrisburg held a press conference yesterday where it revealed the names of 71 members of the clergy who have been accused of sexually abusing children. Bishop Ronald Gainer also introduced a new policy to address allegations against members of the church, including reporting every complaint to the police. The names are released ahead of a grand jury report that will reveal names of more than 300 clergymen accused of abuse in six diocese of Pennsylvania since the 1940’s.

ACLU Urges Lawmakers to Work on Reducing Incarcerations

The American Civil Liberties Union’s Campaign for Smart Justice is urging Pennsylvania Lawmakers to take action on several bills left untouched before summer recess. At the top of their list is the repeal of a law that suspends the driver’s license of someone convicted of non driving related crimes, and a series of bills aimed at keeping first time offenders out of jail.
