Deer Hits Motorcycle and Injures Driver

A Conneautville Man was injured when a deer collided with his motorcycle early sunday morning. Roger Abbot was going for a morning ride at about 5:20 in the morning when the animal ran out on to highway 18 and ran right into his Honda Fury. Roger was treated for an injury to his left leg at Meadville Medical Center.


Prowling Charges Issued a Month After Man Found on Property

Henry Beichner of Oil City was charged on Friday with crimes related to prowling and trespassing stemming from a suspicious incident on June 23rd. When Beichner was found with a radio and shovel in the backyard of a Rouseville home he told State Troopers he was doing work for the home’s owners and provided names so he was let go. It was discovered in July that Beichner provided fake names and was not allowed on the property.


Shapiro Announces More Charges for Child Molesting Pediatrician

More charges were announced Monday for a pediatrician arrested for molesting a child earlier this year. An investigation by the office of Attorney General Josh Shapiro has found evidence sufficient to charge Dr. Johnnie Barto of Johnstown Pennsylvania with molesting infants, toddlers, and young male and female children who were his patients.


Woman Arrested for Drug Possession After Accident

52 year old Rhonda Ramsey of Ebensburg was arrested yesterday for suspected DUI and possession of a controlled substance at Meadville Medical Center. At 7AM yesterday morning Ramsey had sustained minor injuries when she rolled her Jeep Liberty while traveling North through Hayfield Township on I-79. The controlled substance was found inside her vehicle while it was being towed.


Oberlander’s Nifty 60 Expo is Friday

The Nifty 60 Expo is for Senior Citizens in Clarion and surrounding counties to learn about the services available to them in the area. The Expo sponsored by State Representative Donna Oberlander begins on Friday August the 3rd at 10AM at the Clarion Mall. The Expo ends with lunch at noon.


National Heat Stroke Day: Be Mindful of Children in Cars

Today is National Heatstroke Prevention Day, designed to remind adults not to leave children stranded in hot cars. Next to car accidents heatstroke is the number one cause for the vehicle related deaths of children. 37 children die annually from heatstroke in cars and Pennsylvania law prohibits leaving a child under the age of 6 unattended in any vehicle.
