Two Dead on Route 66 Crash

The names of two people killed in a Clarion County car crash yesterday are being withheld until State Police can inform the victim’s families. In Paint township at 7:25 Monday evening a vehicle traveling north on Route 66 was struck by another vehicle turning left onto Wisner Road. The driver and passenger of the northbound car were both declared dead at the scene.


Woman Crashes into Tree

69 year old Kelly Hrach of Tionesta was taken to Titusville Hospital by Townville Ambulance service when she hit a tree driving on highway 408 in Crawford County. She was traveling east through Richmond Township and travelled off the south side of the roadway in her Lincoln Continental to impact the tree.


Act 53 Gives More Authority to Attorney General

The Attorney General of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, held a recent press conference in Reading to celebrate the passage of Act 53 of 2018. Act 53 empowers the AG’s office to investigate cases of abuse involving the elderly and care dependent persons. During the conference Shapiro explained how his office was only allowed to investigate cases of neglect that caused physical injuries to patients.


Troopers Search of Person of Interest in Major Theft

Jeffrey Denny who lives in the Franklin/Oil City area is a person of interest in a case involving the theft of $1,500 worth of ¾ inch stained wood flooring. Denny is a white male, 5’10” tall with blue eyes and dark blonde or reddish colored hair. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Franklin State Police Department at (814)676-6596.


Recovered ATV

Also from the State Police in Franklin; they are in possession of a 1986 Honda 250x 4-wheeled All Terrain Vehicle. The ATV was found in Pinegrove Township on Hale Road in Venango County. Anyone with information should call for Trooper Andrew Falco of the Franklin State Police.


Is Russia Meddling in Pennsylvania Industry?

The director of Governmental Affairs with the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry has a dire warning for the Commonwealth’s natural gas industry. Kevin Sunday told news media that Russia has been targeting Pennsylvania’s natural gas industry to reduce its competition with their own. He warned that Russia was ramping up the efforts of hackers and trolls to sow discord and attack infrastructure.
