Overturned Truck Closes Onramp Near Meadville
At 9am yesterday morning an on ramp from Route 322 to I-79 North in Meadville was closed for several hours after a truck hauling garbage rolled over. Investigators from the State Police say that Ryan Fabiann was injured when he took the on ramp at a speed greater than he could control which shifted his load and caused the whole truck to overturn and spill garbage all across the roadway. He was transported to Meadville Medical Center for treatment while crews worked to clean the mess as fast as they could.
Three Implicated in Motorcycle Theft
Brian Detrick, Amber Stevens, and James Zoodie have all been implicated in the theft of a motorcycle from a 74 year old Lucinda man. Police say that on Sunday the trio took the motorcycle from the man’s home to a salvage yard. The incident report states that charges are still pending.
PA Firefighters Heading to Nevada Wildfires
40 Firefighters from the Commonwealth are heading out west to help fight wildfires that are ravaging areas of Nevada. 40 men and women from Pennsylvania will spend 2 weeks helping fight the Martin wildfire which has spread out over a 400,000 acre area. Department of Conservation and Natural Resources spokesman Terry Brady says that not only will this help Nevada but our own firefighters will return with greater skills.
Oil City Man Charged with Criminal Mischief after July 4th Incident
After ingesting an unknown substance at about 4:30 in the morning on Independence Day 36 year old Jesse Wagner of Oil City headed out into the neighborhood and terrorized a 60 year old couple. Wagner became paranoid and and believed that someone was chasing him, he demanded that he be allowed in for shelter and then tried to break down the front door with a sledge hammer. A State Police Officer was able to detain Wagner who was later released to EMS for medical treatment and charged with criminal mischief.
Lancaster PA Changes Police Policies
Facing a lawsuit from 27 year old Shawn Williams for excessive force and racial profiling the city of Lancaster Pennsylvania is changing its policy on the use of TASER devices. Williams was caught on video being shot with a stun gun by an officer from Lancaster PD while sitting on the curb by police orders. Mayor Danene Sorace says that the officer will not be suspended or fired because he did not violate current policy, but the future policy will only allow the use of stun devices when faced with direct physical confrontation. Williams seeks $75,000 in damages
