Two Injured on SR6

Two people were injured on Route 6 in Erie County in a head on collision. Authorities do not yet know why Kathleen Oostercamp of Erie ended up in the opposite traffic lane while heading east but she collided with a 2017 Jeep Renegade driven by Ron Riedel of Corry. Oostercamp was flown to UMPC Hamot while Riedel was taken by ambulance. A 14 year old passenger in Riedel’s Jeep was unharmed.


Oberlander and Youngblood Team Up to Support Milk Banks

A local Republican is teaming up with a Philadelphia Democrat to sponsor a bill that would create a human milk bank. Donna Oberlander and Rosita Youngblood are cosponsoring the Keystone Mother’s Milk Bank Act which would license facilities to harvest and store breast milk from voluntary donors. The milk banks could provide nutritious food for newborns who cannot receive their own mother’s milk during hospital stays. House Bill 2516 is up for consideration by the House Health Committee.


New Law Could Provide Clean Slate to Thousands

Last night Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf signed the Clean Slate Act into law. Surrounded by a bipartisan group of supporters from the General Assembly Governor Wolf signed a bill which seals the records for someone convicted of a non-violent crime if they remain crime free for at least 10 years. The law is intended to give people who made a mistake the opportunity to get a new start in their private lives.
