A pair of New Castle teens will stand trial for the deaths of two others in February.  Investigators say 18-year-olds Caden Popovich and Dohnavin Miller are charged in the shooting of Justin Luca and Cameron Martwinski during what initially was considered a drug deal gone wrong on Franklin Avenue.   Officials now believe the fight began over a girl.

State Police in Lawrence County are investigating a two vehicle crash from yesterday afternoon in New Beaver Borough that claimed the life of an Ellwood City man. Police said the accident involved a flat bed truck and a car on route 18 near Wilson Drive. 29 year old Perry Dubois of Ellwood City was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the truck, Jason Greenwald of Elizabeth, PA was not hurt. No other details were released.

Police in Pymatuning Township say a Transfer man has died following a multi-vehicle crash. WFMJ-TV reports three vehicles one of them a motorcycle, were involved in the accident at North Hermitage Road and Rutledge Road just after noon on Sunday. Police say one of the victims, 65-year-old Gary Baker of Transfer, was flown by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown where he died. Police say 28-year-old Joshua Rodondi and 27-year-old Rebecca Rodondi of Hermitage were also involved in the crash. Police did not say that they were injured.

Republican state Rep. Nick Miccarelli is officially off several house committees.  Republican leadership say they removed him from five committees after a follow-up internal investigation showed he violated the House Harassment Policy by retaliating against his accusers.  Leadership also moved his seat toward the rear of the chamber.  Miccarelli is accused of sexual assault and domestic violence by another House member.  He isn’t seeking another term but denies any wrongdoing.

The annual Beaver County River Regatta is canceled this year after significant flood damage to the area the event is held at.  Officials say much of the area of Bridgewater where the regatta takes place has been condemned, including the boardwalk and seating area.  Committee representatives said they could not make the necessary repairs to the area in time for the event.

Police say they have tracked down a Butler woman who they feel is the main suspect in the disappearance of a woman in Florida.  Investigators say they found Kimberly Kessler, also known as Jennifer Sybert, who was reported missing in Butler County in 2004.  Kessler was the last person to see Joleen Cummings alive in Nassau County, Florida, and was spotted driving Cumming’s car.  Police say there’s evidence to believe Cummings is dead.

According to this week’s Triple-A East Central gas price report Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania have gone up four cents over the week to $3.09 per gallon. In New Castle prices are averaging 3.11 a gallon while in Sharon drivers are paying less at 2.98. Gas prices jumped 12 cents over the past 14 days, and six-cents since last Monday, landing the national average at $2.93 – the highest price point going into the Memorial Day weekend since 2014.

Pennsylvania Turnpike officials say a driver racked up more than six-grand in fees on an E-Z Pass device stolen from a Westmoreland County trucking company.  Officials say the transponder was taken from a truck belonging to Fleet Equipment in Hempfield Township.  Investigators say they tracked the unit back to a truck belonging to Double R Trucking in Perryopolis and driver Scott Young.  Young has been charged with theft.

Inside Butler County is reporting One person died as a result of an accident that occurred in Butler Township Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Delwood Road. Early reports were that a vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver was entrapped and unresponsive. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. The driver was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. No other details were reported.
