Woman Injured In Crash While Avoiding Stalling Car

On the morning of Friday the 19th near the intersections of Route 6 and Watson Run Road in Crawford County’s Vernon Township a stalling car caused a traffic accident that injured one woman. Angela Perrine drove her car off the road and into a ditch rather than collide with Erin Hershberger’s stalling car. Ms. Perrine suffered injuries of a moderate to severe nature and was rushed to Meadville Medical Center for treatment.

 

DUI Charges for Man who Hit Parked Car

David Andrews of Wattsburg was charged with DUI after colliding with a parked vehicle in Union City. At 11:30 Saturday night Andrews collided with a parked SUV on North High Street disabling both it and his truck. Police arrested him under suspicion of DUI based off the strong odor of alcohol wafting off the man.

 

PA House Removes Rep. MicCarelli from Committees

The Pennsylvania Republican Party has stripped Representative Nick Miccarelli of all committee assignments while allegations that he sexually harassed a female member of the State House are being investigated. According to a memo passed around Harrisburg Miccarelli has also violated house rules by naming his accusers on social media, and may have posted compromising images of one of his alleged victims online.

 

Two Teens Injured After Driving through Stop Sign

Two teenagers were suspected of suffering serious injuries after an accident at the intersection of 198 and Grange Center Road near Saegertown.  According to State Police the accident happened when a 16 year old male from Centerville drove through a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by 19 year old Rachel Barner. The young man was taken to UPMC Hamot, a 17 year old girl that was his passenger was taken to Meadville Medical Center, and Rachel was checked out by staff at that facility as well.

 

Venango Man Smashes Truck in Fit of Rage

During an argument about a cell phone Shane Waterhouse allegedly began to destroy the center console of the SUV belonging to his ride. Brandi Northrup of Saegertown was driving Waterhouse to his home in the town of Venango when he started to punch the touchscreen in her Dodge Journey with a closed fist. When he got to his destination he tour the unit from the truck and finished destroying it. He’s charged with criminal mischief.

 

PennDOT Maintenance Schedules Available

PennDOT
PennDOT has released this week’s road maintenance schedules for Crawford, Erie, Warren, Mercer, Venango, and Forest Counties. This week includes the emergency closing of McClelland Street in Cambridge Springs to through traffic with a detour using Route 99 and Plank Road.
