State Police Seek Help Investigating Traffic Death
State Troopers from Clarion are asking for people that may have witnessed the crash or the scene of the crash that killed Russell Bishop of Knox to contact their station. As reported yesterday Russell drove off the road in the morning hours of Friday May 4th and died after impacting two trees. The crash happened around a half mile south of Brick Church Road as Russell was heading south along Route 208 in Salem Township, he was found around 6:25 AM. Please call (814) 226-1710.

Pennsylvania’s Attorney General Josh Shapiro will be visiting the region today (Tuesday May 8) to announce a major law enforcement action. Shapiro will make his address at 10:30 this morning from the Erie County Courthouse.

Road Improvements Complete in Part of Erie County
PennDOT has officially the opened a new roundabout in Erie County. The roundabout is located on the border of MillCreek and Fairview townships at the intersection of Route 5 and Millfair Road. You should yield to oncoming traffic when entering a roundabout and use turning signals to indicate when you are exiting
Franklin State Police Upping Driving Enforcement
State Police from Franklin want it to be known that they will be conducting DUI checkpoints across Venango County for the remainder of the month of May. Enforcement Patrols along roadways will also be increased in number and frequency this month.
New Law Helps With Adoption of Relatives
Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf signed a new law yesterday that improves legal standing for a third party in child custody cases. Under the new law close family members such as a grandparent will have greater legal standing when it comes to determining the custody of children in cases where parents are no longer able to take care of their own children. The bill passed with unanimous consent in the General Assembly.
