Big Accolades for Meadville Medical Center

2018 starts on a high note for Meadville Medical Center. It has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of the 100 best hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery for the fourth consecutive year in a row. For the seventh straight year the hospital is recognized as one of the greatest places to receive joint replacement surgeries, and as of this year one of the top facilities in the treatment of respiratory failure.


Man Violates PFA Minutes After its Issued in Court

Allen Razza is back in the news. Right after leaving a court hearing where he was issued a protection from abuse order against a woman he had allegedly strangled in January he violated the PFA right there in Venango County Courthouse. Razza was removed from the courthouse for yelling and interrupting other court proceedings and sent back to jail.


The 2018 Budget Battle Begins

Governor Tom Wolf’s 2018-19 Fiscal Budget proposal has been released and its once more unpopular with Republicans. While mostly the same as last year’s budget this year’s includes a 3.1% increase in spending to allot more money to education and to meet the State’s pension needs. The Governor once again proposed to pay for the difference with a natural gas and oil severance tax.
