Pennsylvania’s current Attorney General Josh Shapiro was in the region yesterday morning participating in round table discussions about opioids with area officials. After spending time at discussions in both Warren and Crawford Counties the AG headed to Westmoreland County Community College to speak at a workshop there. In a separate press release Shapiro also touted some of his accomplishments in his first year including a 65% increase in the amount of illicit drugs confiscated and destroyed by the state.

Meanwhile a former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was busy appealing her prison sentence. In 2016 Kane was sentenced to up to 23 months after being convicted of felony perjury, conspiracy, and other crimes after she had resigned from her post. A panel of judges heard her argument for appeal in Philadelphia where she argued the special prosecutor on her case had too much power.
