Police Search for Girl Missing on Christmas Eve

Sixteen Year old Jasmine Elizabeth Verrill of Jamestown Pennsylvania has been missing since Christmas Eve. Jasmine is 5’3” tall, she is white with straight red hair that stops midway down her back and a piercing on the left side of her nose. She was believed to be heading to the home of a friend named Taycaire Booker in New Castle. She was last seen around 2:30 in the afternoon on Christmas Eve riding in a a beige Chevy Malibu with Ohio license plates HGK3559. The car was described as rusty and leaning toward one side, it had three other passengers including two unknown African Americans.
Jasmine was wearing a maroon windbreaker with pink and white letters, blue jeans, and shiny shoes that the police say possibly had sequins. If you think you may have seen jasmine call the State Police in Meadville with information at (814)332-6911 and direct your call to Trooper Stephen Peters.

Lawmaker’s Widow Wins Husband’s Seat in Election

The widow of a former Pennsylvania Lawmaker was sworn into the seat once held by her husband on New Year’s Day. Jeanne McNeil represents Lehigh County after winning a special election for the seat once held by her husband Daniel until his death in September.

 

Police Investigate Theft of Logs from Lumber Yard

30 white ash logs were stolen from a Spartansburg lumber yard around Christmas time. The stolen logs are more than a quarter mile long combined and were taken on or around the 26th of December from AJJ Lumber Yard on Byler Road in Spartansburg. PA Seeks Doctors to Prescribe Marijuana

Slowly but surely Pennsylvania’s Medical Marijuana program is rolling out.  Just under 1,200 individuals have received their medical prescription cards and there is a backlog of about 10,000 more applicants waiting for final approvals. The Department of Health is trying to recruit doctors to get their certifications to prescribe medical cannabis, especially ones who work with major issues cannabis is proven to help with such as Epilepsy or MS.
