CATA Provides Free Smock Bridge Transport on Snow Days

The City of Meadville finalized plans with the Crawford Area Transit Authority and its neighboring townships to provide free bus service to pedestrians crossing Smock Bridge during winter weather conditions. Beginning immediately and continuing through March 31st, when the sidewalk on the bridge is closed because of inclement weather Pedestrians can use CATA’s Green Route between Domino’s Pizza in Meadville and Giant Eagle in Vernon Township at no cost during hours of operation. PA Governor Joins Chorus of State Executives Urging Congress on CHIP

While the Children’s Health Insurance, or CHIP program has been renewed by Pennsylvania the Federal Government has yet to finalize their reauthorization of the plan. Governor Tom Wolf has joined with 11 other governor’s including Ohio’s Governor John Kasich and John Hickenlooper of Colorado in a bipartisan letter writing campaign urging Congress to pass full authorization for CHIP in 2018. CHIP has been unfunded in the Federal Government since October.
