Police Investigating Water Cooler Theft

An unusual theft from back in November, State Police in Clarion County report the theft of a Culligan Water Cooler and multiple five gallon jugs of water from the home of Amber Crooks in Corsica. 
The value of the stolen items was assessed at $400.


Vandal Damages Property at Drake Well

14 signs were vandalized at the Drake Well Museum in Titusville. 
One or more actors spray painted 69 on 14 separate signs located around the park sometime between 5pm Saturday the 9th and 8am on Sunday the 10th. Anyone who might have a tip should call the Franklin State Police at (814)676-6596.


Lawmakers Discuss Limits on License Plate Readers

In Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives the Transportation committee has approved of a measure to limit how information is used after being collected from automatic license plate readers. 
If the bill is passed data collected by police from license plate readers would be destroyed after one year and could not be used for commercial purposes. It also limits the circumstances in which the data could be used.


Lake Effect Snow to Hammer Region

The weather is the news today.
The storm watch issued by the National Weather service has been upgraded to a Lake Effect Snow Warning. The warning affects Erie, Crawford, Venango, Forest, and Clarion Counties. Several inches of snow per day is expected to fall in the affected areas accumulating as many as 12 to 16 inches Between Tuesday morning and Wednesday at midnight. Per the national weather service a Lake Effect Snow Warning means significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or impossible.If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. In addition to the snow temperatures are expected to plummet and winds could gust 40 miles per hour causing white out conditions and wind chill factors to drop below zero. Operation Alert will keep you posted about any cancellations and any changes in the weather.
