The Titusville Free Methodist Church was robbed

Titusville, PA –

State Police from Corry are investigating a burglary at the Titusville Free Methodist Church that happened either Friday night or Saturday morning last week. One or more actors forcibly entered the church and stole $50 and damaged several lockboxes. Anyone with information is being asked to call (814)663-2043.

Tannersville, PA –

In State News the Federal Bureau of Investigation is taking the lead in case involving some criminal’s bad habits. Two women disguised as nuns attempted to use a handgun to rob a bank in near a town named Tannersville in the Pocono Mountains but ended up fleeing the scene before getting anything. Both women were dressed in a habit with a black veil and one also wore sunglasses as they attempted the robbery by demanding cash from the bank teller at a branch of Citizens Bank. The FBI Twitter account has pictures of the suspects.

 

State Rep Hosting Senior Expo in Girard

Rep. Parke Wentling invites seniors to attend

Girard, PA – 

Representative Parke Wentling is a Republican representing Crawford, Erie, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties is inviting senior citizens to attend an exposition tomorrow on Thursday the 31st at the St, John the Evangelist Parish Center in Girard.  The expo will feature over 70 vendors and demonstrators will be available to discuss programs and services for senior citizens in Northwest Pennsylvania. Attorneys, estate and funeral planners, vision and hearing specialists, reps from government agencies, medical equipment sellers, and more will all be available from 11am until 2pm. There will also be various health services available such as flu immunizations and blood pressure screening.

 

State News: DUI Driver Causes 2 Dozen Traffic Accidents

Driver in Philadelphia hits more than 24 cars

Philadelphia, PA –

The Associated Press reports a suspected drunk driver in Philadelphia that collided with over two dozen parked cars. Despite losing a tire it is reported he drove another 12 blocks before his SUV was unable to drive and was chased down on foot by police officers and some Philadelphia citizens. PPD has not released the name of the driver.

 

Home Depot Parking Lot Crash Ends in DUI Arrest

An Oil City man has charges pending

Cranberry, PA –

An Oil City man named Brian Hutchinson passed out while driving in the parking lot of Home Depot in Cranberry and collided with two parked cars.He was arrested for suspicion of DUI with charges pending following an investigation.

 

PSP Announces DUI Checkpoints

Checkpoints prevent DUI incidents

The Pennsylvania State Police want to notify people that there will be DUI checkpoints set up around the state during this Labor Day weekend. The dangers of drunk driving are very real and the punishments for doing so have recently become much tougher, be safe this holiday and do not drink and drive.The newest laws now require anyone convicted of DUI to have their vehicle fitted with a breathalyzer which they must breathe into before they can turn on their car.
