Children Witness Murder/Suicide of Parents

Couple had been together for 22 years

Cranesville, PA –

State Police say that children witnessed their father shoot and kill their mother and himself in a Cranesville murder suicide. Robert Senyo shot and killed Pamela Buren, his girlfriend of 22 years in front of four of their children friday night. After a dispute between the couple Senyo used a hunting rifle on Buren and then himself. The children are currently staying with nearby family members.


Otters Win OHL Championship

A 4 – 3 overtime victory was just what the doctor ordered for Erie

Erie, PA –

Erie’s Hockey team are the winners of the Ontario Hockey League championship and will be moving on to play for the Memorial Cup, the Canadian Hockey League’s Championship. On Friday night the Otters defeated the Mississauga Steelheads in overtime after coming from behind late in the third period. The final score was 4-3 with the Otters finishing the Championship series at home after five games. Taylor Raddysh earned himself a hat trick by scoring a goal in each regular period of play and dished his last shot into the net with only 1:15 to go. The game winning score came off of a shot by Anthony Cirelli with an assist by Dylan St. Rome.

The victory is a huge deal for the Otters who haven’t won the OHL Championship in 15 years. Erie also had the MVP of the OHL playoffs, Warren Foegele was awarded the Wayne Gretzky trophy as part of the victory celebrations. The Otters will face off against the Seattle Thunderbirds in the first round of the Memorial Cup Tournament.


Oil City Raises ALS Fees Despite Objections

Tionesta, Reno, and Cornplanter townships to be charged extra per call

Oil City, PA –

Neighboring Towns are objecting but Oil City is raising the fees it charges for sending ALS service to other areas. Tionesta, Reno, and Cornplanter Townships all rely on Oil City Ambulance for Advanced Life Support Service, all but Reno have objected to the fee increases. Tionesta has gone so far as to threaten to shop around for a service that will charge them less but Oil City’s Council still voted to raise the costs.


Credit Fraud Strikes Venango County

Unknown persons made purchases at several WalMarts

Venango County, PA –

Credit card and bank account information from several Venango County residents was used to make fraudulent purchases at various Walmarts across the state. The victims were all residents of Cranberry and Pine Grove Townships and the purchases were made at stores in LaTrobe, Mount Pleasant, and Pittsburgh. All of these incidents were reported to the Pennsylvania State Police from 4 day period from April 30th to May 3rd and it is not known how the information was acquired. If you have suffered from similar fraud call the State Police as soon as possible.


The Neapolitan Job

Ice cream bandit’s escape foiled by own vehicle

Meadville, PA –

State Police based in Meadville were able to scoop up a woman suspected of ice cream theft. Christina Arjun took ice cream from the store at an East Meade campground and then drove away only for her car to break down on I-79. Troopers immediately identified the vehicle by its license plate which was recorded by the store’s owner. You could call that carma.
