Car Crash Caused by Cocaine Usage

Matthew Carlson was drinking, texting, and using cocaine while driving

Sugarcreek, PA –

After suddenly changing lanes and and striking the rear end of a semi-tractor trailer on State Route 8 Matthew Carlson told Sugarcreek Police that he had been reaching for a dropped cell phone  Later during the investigation police learned that not only was Carlson drinking from an open container of alcohol, he was under the influence of cocaine – he’s now in police custody.

 

Teacher Charged for Relationship with Young Teen

Kyle Askins accused of an ongoing relationship with 13 year old girl

Franklin, PA –

Kyle Askins is a middle school teacher who was arrested on Monday and charged with statutory rape and other crimes for having a relationship with a 13 year old student. Askins teaches Phys. Ed. and Health at Franklin Area Middle School and has been placed on administrative lead. According to Franklin’s State Police Askins has had sexual contact with the 13 year old girl at least 8 times since August of 2016, it was not made clear if the girl was one of his students. Askins is currently held in Venango County Jail on $100,000 bail and has been charged with the following: Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Person Less Than 16 Years of Age, Statutory Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Interference with Custody of Children, Corruption of a Minor, and Indecent Assault.

 

Man Killed in Car Accident

85 year old Harold Burke was killed at the scene

Cranberry, PA –

Harold Burke of Emlenton was killed in a one car accident at about 2pm Monday afternoon in Venango County. Burke drove off the left berm of the road and sheared off a utility pole before his car flipped over killing him. 81 year old Joanne Burke was sent to UPMC Northwestern for treatment of minor injuries. Penelec, Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, and Community Ambulance responded to the scene.

 

Troopers Seek Leads in Chainsaw Thefts

Nine Husqvarna Brand chainsaws of varying sizes were stolen

Mt. Pleasant, PA –

One or more actors broke into three trucks owned by Asplundh Tree Expert Company in Mt. Pleasant between April 30 and March 1 and stole a total of nine Husqvarna chainsaws. State Police in Corry are asking for help to generate leads and you have information call them at (814)663-2043.

Norman Rossey has been Missing 18 Days

Meadville, PA –

Norman Rossey Junior of Meadville has been missing since April 15th. Norman is 5’6” with sandy blond hair and blue eyes and when last seen was wearing a black ‘Last Minute Mart’ hoodie, blue jeans, and orange and blue sneakers; he was riding a grey and orange mountain bike. If you have information about his whereabouts please call Meadville City Police at (814) 724-6100.
