Suspected Statutory Rapist Surrenders to Police

Kyle Heffern surrendered without incident

Oil City, PA –

Kyle Heffern surrendered himself after learning of an arrest warrant stemming from an incident on January 12th where he is accused of deviant intercourse with a teenager. According to a criminal complaint filed by OCPD on February the 24th Heffern allegedly picked up a 14 year old boy from the Oil City area at around 4pm on January the 12th after arranging a meeting over text messages and the Grindr App. The complaint goes on to detail how they proceeded to Samuel Justus Recreational Trail and engaged in voluntary sexual contact before Heffern took them home.

Kyle Heffern is charged with felony counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Minor Under 16, Statutory Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault of a Minor Less Than 16, and a misdemeanor charge of Indecent Assault. Heffern’s bail was set at $100,000 and his preliminary trial is Wednesday.


Traffic Restrictions on Baldwin Street in Meadville

Sidewalk work precedes repaving of the road surface

Meadville, PA –

Baldwin Street in Meadville will be subject to traffic restrictions starting this morning. Work crews will be performing maintenance and restoration on the sidewalks of Baldwin Street for the next 4 to 6 weeks before the entire street is repaved. Work will begin on one side of the street and then move to the other when completed and residents will need to park curbside while work is carried out. Traffic will be directed by flaggers.


Troopers Investigating Hit and Run

Unknown driver destroyed fences and road signs in front of auto repair shop

Union Township, Crawford County, PA –

State Police are investigating a Hit and Run incident at Supercare auto in Crawford County’s Union Township. An unknown vehicle swerved into the left side of the road and destroyed a fence then ran over a traffic sign before fleeing Wednesday night. The suspect vehicle is missing a driver’s side headlight and fled North down the Perry Highway. If you have information call the State Police (814)332-6911.


Sexagenarians and Their Drugs

Two men in their sixties facing drug charges

Northwest, PA –

60 year old Elvis Wofford of Conneaut Lake will soon be facing trial for selling crack cocaine. His trial will cover two separate incidents from October 2015 and November 2016 in which he was allegedly caught in possession of and selling the drug. On March 27th 67 year old Douglas Leuschen was in possession of marijuana when he threatened to kill a logger in Clarion County’s Millcreek Township and was arrested by Clarion Police on charges of terrorist threats, harassment, and drug possession.
