Woman Killed in Clarion County Shooting

Being treated as an accidental death

Washington Township, Clarion County, PA –

One woman is dead after an apparently accidental shooting on Lake Lucy Road last evening in Clarion County. The victim is a 22 year old woman from Curwensville and an autopsy is being performed today in Erie. The identity of the victim has not been released to the public but she was shot at about 5:30pm and was declared dead by Clarion County Coroner Terry Schaffer at 6:15.

 

Former Secretary-Treasurer Pleads Guilty to Stealing Money from City

Victoria Wintemute admits stealing money from Lake City

Lake City, PA –

Former Lake City Secretary-Treasurer Victoria Wintemute pleaded guilty yesterday to using nearly $66,000 of the city’s funds to pay for personal items and bills. Under the plea deal she will be required to pay the money back to Lake City and she will be sentenced in April. Wintemute worked for around 10 years as secretary-treasurer before she was fired for unrelated reasons and it was only until a later audit that they noticed the theft of funds. Her case is very similar to the case of Charyl Cappella of Union City who used emergency funds to pay for more than $200,000 in personal expenses.

 

Man Arrested for Relationship with Teenager

David Bennet charged with multiple offenses for involvement with 15 year old girl

Saegertown, PA –

A 24 year old Mercer man was arrested for an alleged sexual relationship with a fifteen year old girl from Saegertown. David Bennet stands accused of exchanging pornograpic images with and engaging in many other incidences of inappropriate conduct with a minor. The Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Special Investigations filed the charges after gathering evidence when Facebook and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent a tip that an adult man was encouraging a fifteen year old girl to produce and send him nude photos over Facebook Messenger and that they may have engaged in sexual activity. Bennet faces felony counts of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with the same, unlawful contact with a minor involving sexual offenses, and many more. An investigator posed as the girl on February 23rd and lured Bennet to the girl’s home where he was arrested.

 

Mob of Troubled Teenagers Assaults Two People at Vision Quest

Four teenage boys and a young adult attacked another resident and a worker at the facility

Sandy Creek Township, Venango County, PA –

Charges have been filed against several teenagers from Vision Quest in an assault that took place President’s Day. A 14 year old boy and Darren Zeits were assaulted by four boys including 18 year old Dajuan Jett. Jett was sent to Venango County Jail where he is held on $25,000 straight bail and charged with simple assault while the three other juveniles ranging from 14 to 17 have been charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.
