Troopers Seek Stolen ATV

Taken from Oil City man’s garage

Oil City, PA –

State Police in Venango are searching for an ATV stolen from the garage of Jay Trauterman of Oil City. It is a red 2005 Suzuki 250 with an automatic transmission and a utility rack that is bent. If you have information about the vehicle or any suspects please call PSP Franklin (814)676-6596.


Man Arrested for Stealing Medicine from Elderly

Allegedly sold pills stolen from nursing home patients

Oil City, PA –

Justin Taylor of Oil City has been arrested for stealing medication from a nursing home patient. It is alleged that after attempting to fill an old prescription in the name of an elder woman Taylor tried to destroy evidence in the presence of OPD officers questioning him. Taylor was charged with several misdemeanors and felonies including Misusing a Communication Facility, Forgery, Theft, Tampering with Evidence, and Resisting Arrest.


Man Pleads No Contest to Multiple Burglaries

Daniel Hartman committed several burglaries while on parole

Mercer, PA –

Daniel Hartman of Stoneboro pleaded no contest to charges related to ten separate burglaries across Venango and Mercer counties Friday. The last time Hartman made the report was in July when he was arrested in Ohio while in possession of the items from his most recent heist. Hartman’s crime spree started while he was on parole after serving three years of a burglary sentence from a guilty plea in 2011. Hartman will be sentenced on the 28th of March, if he had fought the charges he could have faced 10 years for each one.
