Suspect Arrested in Dave’s Corner Tavern Burglary


Venango, PA –

Steven Durkin of Venango was arrested for and charged with burglarizing Dave’s Corner Tavern in the town of Venango last Tuesday. He was picked up for questioning after he was caught with some of the nearly $1,400 worth of alcohol he stole from the establishment.

 

Woman Unharmed after Car Flies off Road


Guys Mills, PA –

A Crawford County Woman is fine after her car went airborne. On Saturday the 21st Rebecca Cross was driving on route 408 near Guys mills when she took her eyes off the road for just one second and lost control. Her car struck a culvert pipe and travelled about 200 feet, about 70 of it through the air before hitting a second pipe. Rebecca was wearing her seatbelt and was unharmed.

 

Cheryl Capela Guilty of Fraud


Erie, PA – 

Yesterday Cheryl Capela, the former Manager of Union City Borough plead guilty in Erie’s federal court to charges of mail fraud. You may remember last week when I reported she was charged with defrauding Union City for around $203,000 which she used for personal expenses. Capela has plead guilty to fraudulently using checks and credit cards belonging to the city to purchase personal items in excess of $200,000 while she was the Borough Manager from 2013 to 2016. Capela also faces a lawsuit from Union City Borough who seeks for her to pay the money back.
