Massachusetts Man Arrested for Attempted Carjacking in Barkeyville

Venango County, PA – Tan Nguyen had already stolen a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from a gas station in Massachusetts and made it all the way to Barkeyville before looking for a new ride. After failing to break into a car near a gas pump at Speedway he waited for its owner to return and then tried to get inside with him but the anonymous 51 year old would be victim fought back and forced Nguyen to flee. He was taken into custody near that location a few minutes later


PennDOT Awards More than a Half Million Dollars to Crawford County

Crawford County, PA – Hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants from Penndot have been awarded in Crawford County for infrastructure and beautification projects. About $220,000 was awarded to the city of Meadville for work to repair the porter street footbridge that has been closed since 2014. Conneaut Lake likewise received some funds, $475,000 exactly for their project to restore Water Street.


Homeless Shelter Continues Operations After Drug Raid

Meadville. PA – St. James Haven, the men’s homeless shelter in Meadville, will continue operating even after Thursday’s drug bust. In fact it was Marie Pears who is the director of St. James Haven who informed police that she was suspicious of one of the building manager Jerry Whitman launching the investigation lead to the discovery of his methamphetamine lab. Saint James Place is a tempoerary shelter with six beds that offers shelter for homeless men in the Meadville Area and has been operating aince 1997.
