Footprints in Snow Lead Police Directly too Robber

Erie PA – Milo Alred thought he had gotten away with robbing the pizza man as he took off into the night with some cash and a free pizza right up until EPD showed up at his home. Milo had fled through the snow after mugging a Domino’s driver at knife point and police officers followed his trail leading right up to his front door a few blocks away. It better have been a very good pizza if he is facing Armed Robbery charges for it!


Pennsylvania to Close Two Prisons

Harrisburg PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has announced they will be closing two prisons by June 30th of this year. Five prisons including SCI Mercer are on the shortlist to be given the axe by Secretary John Wetzel who heads the DOC with an announcement as to which two will be closed by the 26th of this month. SCI Frackville in Schuylkill County, SCI Pittsburgh in Allegheny County, SCI Mercer in Mercer County, SCI Retreat in Luzerne County, and SCI Waymart in Wayne County are all candidates for the shutdown. 800 guards and thousands of criminals will be effected and according to Secretary Wetzel the guards will be given the option of staying on and relocating to a new facility to continue working for the department.


Major Fire Destroys House

Meadville PA – A kitchen fire devastated a home on Leslie Road Friday. At around 4pm a small fire that started in the kitchen quickly spread beyond the room and into the rest of the house, it took eight fire crews to stop the blaze from spreading and all but destroyed the building. The only occupant at the time, a woman who’s identity has not been revealed, managed to escape unharmed.
