Body of Kidnapped Baby’s Mom Identified

It seemed like a happy ending for eight month old Ariella Downs, the young child had been rescued by police in Reading, her abductor caught, and authorities were looking to return her to her family, but on Sunday authorities identified the body of Ariella’s mother. 28 year old Amanda Downs was found dead in her Sharpsville apartment on Saturday before the issue of an Amber Alert that allowed authorities to find the child. She was allegedly killed by Antonio Velazquez-Rupert who is Ariella’s father and kidnapper. The cause of death was head trauma.


Drive it like… You Know

A car thief in Crawford County really did seem to get a license from a Crackerjack box. While behind the wheel of a stolen car in Hayfield township they ended up losing control so badly the vehicle rolled for almost 200 feet before stopping. The suspect somehow managed to flee the scene on foot and their identity remains unknown.


Grinch steals Thousands in Cash and Coins from Venango Woman

In Venango County State Police are looking for information on a burglary of the home of 72 year old Shirley Ross.
The day after Christmas unknown actors made off with a safe containing cash and coins totaling $6,400 from her house in Frenchcreek Township and anyone who has information is being asked to call (814)676-6596. Ross lives on Georgetown Road so if you have seen any suspicious or unusual activity in the area especially on the day after Christmas please let authorities know.
