Board Member Takes Penncrest School District to Court
Penncrest School District is being taken to court by a member of its own School Board. Luigi DeFrancesco is taking the district’s superintendent over financial invoices, claiming that the school board cannot properly do its job without access to them and currently only the district super as access to them. Penncrest is in monetary trouble and had to cut 37 faculty positions in June to avoid bankruptcy. Superintendent Micheal Healey’s lawyer says that the complaint should be dismissed because there is no legal basis for it and that the previous School Board had determined that individual board members did not need to view the invoices.
