Active Aging, Inc. will be hosting their seventeenth annual ‘Through A Veteran’s Eye: A Salute’ on Thursday, November 10th through Saturday, November 12th held the Community Center of Crawford County located at 1034 Park Avenue in Meadville. This event is held to honor all of our veterans who have served or are currently serving our nation. Each day, the festivities will begin with a traditional flag-raising ceremony conducted by the Meadville VFW Post 2006 and the Vietnam Veterans Post 52. Meadville Area Senior High School will provide musical entertainment and the playing of our National Anthem at Thursday’s flag-raising ceremony.
This year’s salute will be featuring ‘On the Homefront: Through a Civilian’s Eye’. This three day event will include a variety of distinguished speakers who will share their personal stories as well as the effects that war had here on the homefront in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Museum quality displays and demonstrations will also be open to the public throughout the event. Friday night, the festivities will continue at the Big Band style USO Dance and continue into Saturday with a continental breakfast served by their donut dollies. Active Aging would like to thank long time sponsor Vantage as well as various local contributors, for helping them provide this annual event. This event is free and open to the public.
