Jonathan Kephart, 21 years old, was a specialist assigned to the US Army’s Military Police. He had been in just Iraq ten days when his convoy patrol was ambushed in Baghdad.
Jonathan became the first Venango County soldier lost in Iraq.
On Saturday, September 24th at 10 AM, the Petroleum Street Bridge in Oil City will be renamed in honor of Jonathan. It will be called the Specialist Jonathan R. Kephart Memorial Bridge.
Everyone is welcome to attend the bridge renaming ceremony. Patriot guard riders will have a flag line at this special event. Please come out and honor the first Venango County soldier to sacrifice his life in the fight against terrorism – Saturday, September 24th at 10 AM.
