Firefighters Rescue Dog From Earthquake Rubble:

Firefighters in Italy recently rescued a Golden Retriever named Romeo. He had been stuck under a pile of rubble for 9 days following an earthquake that registered 6.2 on the Richter Scale. Romeo’s owners were sleeping when the earthquake struck and leveled their home. They got out safely and then evacuated. Romeo’s owners returned 9 days later before calling out his name. Romeo started barking before firemen started digging and found him in good condition.
One fireman tells ANSA: We immediately began moving masonry from where the barking was coming from and incredibly we got to him and he was in pretty good condition. Luckily some beams had fallen in a way that they were holding up the weight of everything above them leaving Romeo with a little niche that he was able to survive in.
