PennDOT Picks New Manager for Venango County

PennDOT in Venango County has a new county maintenance manager. Paula Klingler has taken the reigns to oversee all projects in the county. Paula has been with PennDOT for 25 years, she started as an equipment operator and has worked her way up including being the assistant manager for Mercer County.

 

Governor Faces Hurdles on Route to Restore PA Initiative

Governor Tom Wolf has been drumming up support for his $4.25 (four and a quarter) billion Restore Pennsylvania initiative. The plan calls for raising the funds by creating a severance tax on Marcellus Shale natural gas and using it to spend over $1 billion a year on infrastructure projects. But the governor has hit a new hurdle in the form of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, who’s President and CEO Gene Barr is against taxing shale gas.

 

Residents May Soon Donate Tax Returns to Vets

Soon residents of Pennsylvania may be able to donate all or part of their income tax returns to help veterans. The House Finance Committee approved a measure this week that would create a checkoff box that allows donations to the Veterans Trust Fund right on your tax forms.
